Health is a required course in high school and students must pass it to be eligible to graduate. During the course of this school year students will learn important aspects of achieving and maintaining good health. We will study and discuss meal plans, proper nutrition and diet, exercise, mental and physical health, emotional well being, the dangers of drugs and alcohol, and many other important topics to help prepare students to live long healthy lives.
I am a veteran teacher/coach with 23 years of experience. I am entering my 11th year in the Pearl Public School District and my 4th year at Pearl High School. I am originally from Baldwyn, MS. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Physical Education from THE University of Mississippi. I also graduated with a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. In addition to my teaching responsibilities I also coach high school football and I'm a proud memeber of the 2017 Class 6A State Championship Pirate football team and I coach girls' powerlifting. I am married to Kathryn Welch who is the Head Girl's soccer coach at Pearl High School and we have a dog named Jack. I love teaching for Pearl and it's ALWAYS a GREAT day to be a Pirate!
