Pearl School Board Passes Resolution Supporting Public Education

At its regular board meeting on October 13, 2025, the Pearl Public School District Board of Trustees unanimously adopted a resolution opposing proposed school choice and voucher legislation in Mississippi.

The resolution reaffirms the Board’s commitment to providing a high-quality, equitable education for every student served by Pearl Public School District and expresses concern that such proposals would divert public funds away from public schools, reduce accountability, and undermine the state’s responsibility to support all students.

The Board urges Mississippi’s legislative leaders to reject school choice proposals and instead focus on fully funding public education, supporting teachers, and strengthening local public schools across the state.
