The Pearl Public School District's Pre-Kindergarten Program serves eligible four-year-old children and their families.  Title I federal funds are utilized to operate the Pre-Kindergarten Program.

The Pearl Public School District Pre-Kindergarten Program is based on the philosophy that parents are their child's first and most important teachers.  Our faculty and staff members are committed to work in partnership with parents and other community agencies to increase the educational opportunities available to our students.  We believe children can reach their fullest potential when school, home, and community work together toward common goals.

The early childhood years are a critical time in the development for every child.  The learning that takes place during the first eight years of life serves as the foundation for all later academic, social, emotional, physical and motor development.  We emphasize developing the potential of each four-year-old through a well-rounded instructional program. Instruction is provided by certified teachers and highly qualified teacher assistants.  Our program follows the Mississippi Early Learning Guidelines for Classrooms Serving Four-Year-Olds.  Our educational approach, using Opening the World of Learning (OWL) curriculum resources, addresses Mississippi Pre-K Content Standards in seven domain areas: Language and Literacy, Math, Science, Social Studies, Creative, Social and Emotional and Health and Physical Development.  Our Pre-K program activities are designed to reach students at their own developmental level and provide the necessary building blocks for future learning experiences.  Learning opportunities facilitate every child's natural curiosity and eagerness to learn.

Our theme this school year is "Blast Off on a Learning Adventure."  We will use the Early Learning Standards as a guide to launch your child to Kindergarten readiness. Join us as we build a foundation of skills and explore learning.
